The HP Planet Partners programme provides a free, easy, state-of-the-art return and recycling service for HP print cartridges, for everyone.
This industry-leading programme, begun in 1992, concentrates on developing HP print supplies that:
Conserve resources
- External packaging for HP LaserJet cartridges now uses 30% recycled material.
- HP Transparencies now use 45% recycled material.
- Monochrome HP LaserJet cartridges now average 32% fewer parts and 55% fewer plastic resins.
- Monochrome HP LaserJet cartridges now have an 80% higher yield.
Use more environmentally sound materials and processes
- NO ozone-depleting substances are used in any products or packaging.
- NO elemental chlorine is used in manufacture of external packaging for HP LaserJet cartridges.
Are easier to recycle
- 203 million pounds (92 million kilograms) of HP print cartridge material were recycled by January 2005.
- Many types of HP paper and card stock can now be recycled like normal office paper.
- Fully recyclable product packaging is used in many regions.
- Plastic parts of 25 grams or more are now marked to aid sorting.
IMPORTANT: HP Planet Partners - HP LaserJet and inkjet print cartridge return & recycling programme is only available for end-users who have used HP original cartridges in the manner for which they are intended.
Please do not use the HP Return and Recycling Programme for defective supplies.
Defective supplies which are still under warranty as described in the specific HP supplies warranty statement should be exchanged with an authorised dealer or service centre.
Used supplies which are inadvertently sent to the HP Return and Recycling Programme can not be returned.

- Check the product packaging for pre-paid and pre-addressed return materials and use them to return your used HP LaserJet or inkjet print cartridges.
